Mr. James “Jimmy” Woodrow Dixon, 84, a resident of Kernersville, passed away Friday, November 8, 2024. Jimmy was born in Forsyth County on March 14, 1940, to the late Woodrow Gilmer and Ethel Tucker Dixon.
He worked for Reynolds Tobacco as a machine operator for many years. Jimmy had a great sense of humor and when he wasn’t making you laugh, he could be found golfing with his friends Jack, Thomas, and Danny. When he was younger, he also enjoyed fishing and hunting with his buddy, Jerry, and playing softball with his church league team. Jimmy loved spending time with his family and furry companions, Buddy and BB.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Left to cherish his memory include his life companion, Dot Baker, of the home; his children, James “Darren” Dixon (Paula) of Thomasville and Gina Dixon Morrow (Daryl); Dot’s children, John (Stacey) and Vincent (Sharron); grandchildren, Nicole Dagenhart (Clay), Matthew Bullock (Nichole), Luke Dixon (Autumn), and Levi Dixon; step-granddaughter, Lillian Baker; and great-grandchildren, Ashton Prevette, Noah Dagenhart, Sarah Dagenhart, Remi Bullock, and Collin Bullock.
The family will receive friends at Jimmy and Dot’s home. In honor of Jimmy’s wishes, there will not be any formal services.
