James Douglas Hicks

WALKERTOWN - James Douglas Hicks, 80, died Saturday, November 28, 2009, at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born June 10, 1929 to the late Terry and Rose Lee Lawson Hicks. James served in the US Army and retired from Kayser Roth after 40 years of service. He was a faithful member of Believer's Baptist Church. James is survived by his wife, Carol F. Hicks, of the home; one son, J. Allen Hicks, and wife, Laura G., of Apex; two grandchildren, Carter Allen and Emily Elizabeth Hicks; three sisters, Marie Smith, Patsy Ukele and Betty Lou Hicks; two brothers, Willie Hicks and wife, Betty, and Larry Hicks and wife, Nikkie; and a very special friend, Donald Riggs. A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 am on Tuesday, December 1, 2009 at Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel. Burial will follow in Eastlawn Gardens of Memory. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 pm on Monday, November 30, 2009 at the funeral home.
