James Vernon Harrison

Kernersville - Mr. James Vernon Harrison, age 76, passed away Friday, October 2, 2015 at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born August 13, 1939 in Forsyth County to the late Vernon Clark and Ethel Davis Harrison. Mr. Harrison was a lifetime member of the Kernersville Wesleyan Church

Surviving are his loving wife, Bobbie Hunt Harrison, three daughters, Sharon Apple and husband Mark of Kernersville, Robin Compton and husband Todd of Savannah, Ga. and Michelle Hunt of Trinity, two sisters, Rachel Bowman of Kernersville, and Shelba Skiver and husband Clayton, three grandchildren, August Compton, Jamie Apple, Hannah Whitaker, a number of nieces and nephews, and two K-9 companions, Candy and Cricket.

A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 PM Monday, October 5, 2015 at Kernersville Wesleyan Church with Rev. Phil Hulen and Rev. Don Martin officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Gur cemetery. The family will receive friends 6-8 pm Sunday evening at Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel, and at other times at the home of Sharon Apple.
