James Richard George

Mr. James Richard George, 90, passed away Wednesday, June 4, 2014 at Golden Living Rest Home. He was born on March 25, 1924 in Stokes County to Andrew George and Emma Frye George. Mr. George was a member of Kingswood United Methodist Church where he attended the Epworth Sunday School Class. He retired from Merita Bakery with over 43 years of service. He was preceded in death by his parents; Wife, Mary George; two brothers, Alton and Glenn George; one sister, Eastermae Baugus. Surviving are one daughter, Patricia Setzer and husband Dennis; special nephew, Nelson Parker; three grandchildren; one great grandchild; a brother, Willis Ray George; and numerous nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, June 11, 2014 at Crestview Memorial Park with Rev. Sidney Lanier officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Tuesday at Hayworth-Miller Rural Hall Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Kingswood United Methodist Church, 6840 University Parkway, Rural Hall, NC 27045.
