James Franklin Fulton

Mr. James Franklin Fulton, age 75, passed away Wednesday, September 17, 2014 at his home in Winston-Salem surrounded by his loving family. Mr. Fulton was born in Rockingham County, February 16, 1939 to John William and Annie Mae Chatman Fulton. He was a member and Deacon at Northwoods Baptist Church in Winston-Salem. Mr. Fulton was a U.S. Army veteran and was also Volunteer of the Year for Hospice in 2002. He enjoyed and loved doing volunteer work for Hospice and Palliative Care and also for the Cancer Center of Forsyth Medical Center. In addition to his parents Mr. Fulton was preceded in death by two sisters; Elsie Fulton and Doris Moseley. Three brothers; Leonard Fulton, Robert Fulton and Phillip Fulton.

Mr. Fulton is survived by his wife of 54 years of marriage, Jettie Lou Fulton of the home. Three daughters; Debbie (Scott) Vernon of King, Tammy (Tommy) Shepherd of Walkertown and Ronda (Garry) Lineback of Winston-Salem. One son, Steve Fulton and fiancée Wendy Denny both of Walnut Cove. Eleven grandchildren; Amanda (Brad) Richardson, Josh (Autumn) Vernon, Kim (Chip) Williams, Whitney (Kevin) Thompson, Ashley (Justin) Arnold, Caleb (Megan) Vernon, Matt Whiteheart, Andrew Whiteheart (fiancée Heather Sloat), Clay Fulton (fiancée Heather Beamon), Emily Shepherd (fiancée T.C. Minor), Ben Vernon. Five Step-grandchildren; Mandy and Jason Lineback, Stephanie, Kaitlyn and Kristen Denny. Fifteen great-grandchildren and one step-great grandson. One brother Thomas Fulton of CA. One sister-in-law, Kathleen Fulton of FL. Several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Mr. Fulton will be held Saturday, September 20, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. at Northwoods Baptist Church in Winston-Salem by Pastor Jim Thompson, Pastor Scott Vernon and Brad Richardson. Burial will follow at Gardens of Memory in Walkertown. Military burial honors will be conducted by American Legion Post 290 of King. The family will receive friends Friday evening September 19th from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. at Northwoods Baptist Church.
