James Earl Edwards

Mr. James Earl Edwards, 71, of Clemmons passed away Friday, December 09, 2011 at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. He was born in Forsyth County on June 22, 1940 to Homer Allen and Florence Arnold Edwards. Mr. Edwards grew up in Sparta, NC and graduated from Alleghany High School. Before joining the US Navy, Mr. Edwards attended Wake Forest University. He was of the Moravian faith. He was a professional business man who enjoyed his work in the banking, insurance, real estate, and investment fields. In his spare time, he enjoyed spending time with his friends and family, dancing, and watching sports. Mr. Edwards will be remembered as a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He was preceded in death by the love of his life, Skye Edwards; and his parents. Mr. Edwards is survived by a son, James Earl Edwards, II of Orlando, FL; two daughters, Julie Raines and husband Don of Clemmons, and Joanna Penission and husband Gary of East Lansing, MI; seven grandchildren, Tyler and Heather Edwards; Austin, Chad, and Sean Raines, and Skye and Marco Penission; and two brothers, Ralph Edwards and wife Gelene of Kingsport, TN, and Russell Edwards and wife Mary Jane of Suwannee, GA. A memorial service will be conducted at 11:00 am, Monday, December 12, 2011 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with the Rev. Bill McElveen officiating. Memorials may be made to the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27107. The family would like to thank the staff at Kate B.
