James Robert Bobby" Dodd

Mr. James Robert ""Bobby"" Dodd, 71, of Winston-Salem died unexpectedly at his residence on November 14, 2010. He was born July 20, 1939 in Forsyth County to James Herbert Dodd and Cornelia Johnston Dodd Kelly. He was preceded in death by his father, James Herbert Dodd, his step-father, Gene Kelly, his grandparents, Mr. & Mrs. Richard Sidney Johnston, Sr. and Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Dodd. Mr. Dodd was a member of Ardmore United Methodist Church and a graduate of Reynolds High School. He attended Hargrave Prep School, Duke University, and graduated from Vanderbilt University. He served in the U.S. Navy. Mr. Dodd is survived by his mother, Cornelia Johnston Dodd Kelly; a sister, Penny Dodd Gaulden; a niece, Lisa Gaulden Barber and her husband, Dr. George Barber; five great nieces and nephews; three special friends, Ruby Gray Lineback and Linda Johnston Bailey and her husband Tom. A funeral service will be held at 2:00pm, Thursday, November 18, 2010 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with the Rev. Katie Bryant officiating. Burial will follow at Forsyth Memorial Park.
