James Sizemore

James "Big Jim" Sizemore, 86, passed turn four and kept on going passed the checkered flag to see St. Peter on Sunday March 19, 2023. He was born on September 22, 1936, in Yadkin County to Gracie Stanley and Winfield Sizemore. Big Jim is now telling St. Peter his amazing stories; from picking tobacco as a teenager with his brother Jerry, playing football at Booneville High School, racing against the Allison brothers at Oglethorpe Speedway, working on fighter jets at Hunter Air Force Base, to working on Crawfish Crowder's Grand National car at Bowman Gray!

Big Jim was an avid Marty Stuart, Green Bay Packer, Yarbrough, Turner, Parsons, Gant, Radford, and Ray Hendrick fan. And most recently Chastain and Reddick.

A first career in printing followed by a second career in sales, Big Jim was a volunteer coach at the Walkertown Wolfpack Booster club in the 1970s.

In addition to his parents, Big Jim was preceded in death by his wife, Jo Sizemore

He is survived by his children, Christine Sizemore, Diane Winchester (Colin), Bryan (Lori), and Greg; grandchildren, Andrea Stone (Ryan White), Elizabeth Douglas (Donte), Alex Stone (Britt), Katherine Engle (Justin), Joshua Winchester, Cooper Grayson Sizemore, Samuel Levi Clifford Middleton Sizemore, Anna Sizemore, and Lukas Sizemore; great grandchildren; Dorian Stone, and Kayla Blakeney.
