James Robert Cox

Mr. James Robert Cox, 64, of Winston-Salem died at home on Wednesday, September 7, 2011. He was born Febaruary 2, 1947 to Clarence W. Cox and Louise Scott Cox. He graduated from West Forsyth High School and attended Forsyth Tech. James worked at Hanes Dye & Finishing before starting TMS (Tile.Marble.Stone). In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, C. W. Cox, Jr., and his sister, Evelyn Cox Tuttle. James is survived by his wife, Jane Cox; two daughters, Gina Cox Davis and her husband, Skip Davis and Christy Cox Spencer and her husband, Will Spencer; his son, Mark Hemrick and his wife, Karrie Hemrick; two grandchildren, Jesse Hemrick and Jon Hemrick; and his sister, Joyce Cox Hammer. The family will visit with family and friends Saturday from 2:00 until 4:00 PM at Hayworth Miller Funeral Home on Silas Creek Parkway. At James' request, a private family memorial service will be held. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials be made to Hospice & Palliative Care, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
