James Horace Corn, Sr.

James Horace Corn, Sr., 93, of Winston-Salem, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, August 16, 2023, at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born to the late James Oscar Corn and Mary McCall Corn on January 20, 1930, in Columbia, South Carolina. Upon graduation from Wofford College, James enlisted in the Army and served during the Korean War. James was a proud and faithful member of Central Terrace United Methodist Church in Winston-Salem since 1956. James dedicated his life to helping others through delivering Meals on Wheels, Boy Scouts, and South Little League. He is survived by his loving wife of over 71 years, Ruth Harris Corn; son, Jim Corn (Stacey Steel); daughters, Debbie Cox, Karen Caudill (Robert Gray), and Mary Owens; grandchildren, Wes, Beth, TJ, Julie, Robbie, Heather, Christy, Abry, and Savett; 18 great-grandchildren; 1 great great-grandchild; and numerous other extended family and friends. A visitation will be held from 11:00am to 12:30pm on Monday, August 21, 2023, at Central Terrace United Methodist Church. The funeral will be held following the visitation at 1:00pm.
