Kernersville - Mr. James Weldon Clinard, 90, passed away Thursday, March 3, 2016 at Hospice of High Point. Weldon was born on February 17, 1926 in Guilford County to Lawrence Vernon and Ola Jane Cagle Clinard. Weldon was a WWII Veteran of the US Navy and retired from ABF Trucking. He was a very active member of Hillcrest Baptist Church, serving as a deacon and usher for over 40 years.
In addition to his parents, Weldon was preceded in death by his sister, JoAnn Clinard; his twin brother, William Clinard and two other brothers, C. V. Clinard, and Eugene Clinard.
Surviving are his wife of 70 years, Ruth Genette Clinard; two sons, Michael Clinard (wife, Ginny) and David Clinard (wife, Lynn); three daughters, Annette Clinard, Jenée Stewart and Angie Sheppard (Gib); 11 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; and one brother, Bobby Clinard.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 7, 2016 at Hillcrest Baptist Church with Rev. Jason Murray officiating. Burial will follow at Eastlawn Gardens of Memory. The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Sunday, March 6, at Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel.
