James Clayton Taylor

James Clayton Taylor, 78, of Colfax, North Carolina departed from his earthly home and joined the Lord in Heaven on Friday, August 25th, 2023. 

James was born to Ottis and Arizona Taylor on May 3rd, 1945, in Swain County, North Carolina. James was a long-time member of Welcome Door Baptist Church in Kernersville, NC. James worked as a plumber for many years at Anderson Plumbing. 

James was a quiet, hardworking man who enjoyed gardening, carpentry and hiking the mountains. 

James was greeted in Heaven by his mother and father, his daughter Lynn, one brother and five sisters. The memory of James will be carried on in his surviving wife of 58 years Mary, son Jerald Taylor and wife Melissa, daughter Myra Anderson and husband Ken, grandchildren Ashley, Chloe, Christina, Patricia, and Robert,  great-grandchildren Taylyn, Landon, Emma, Joslyn, Jace, Lily-Grace, and James, brothers Carl, Carter, Charlie and Freddy, sister Barbara as well as many other extended family members. 

A funeral service will be held at 12:00 PM, Wednesday, August 30, 2023, at Welcome Door Baptist Church with Pastor Brian Taylor officiating. Interment will follow the service at Eastlawn Gardens of Memory in Kernersville. The family will receive friends from 11:00-11:45 AM prior to the service. Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel is assisting the family.
