James Ray Burrow

Mr. James Ray Burrow, age 79 of Rural Hall passed away early Sunday morning October 31, 2010 at his home. Mr. Burrow was born in Stokes County, June 30, 1931 to the late Matthew M. and the late Ruby Moore Burrow. He was a member of Poplar Springs Church of Christ and also attended Rural Hall Church of Christ while his health permitted. James was elected as Fire Chief for a term with the Rural Hall Volunteer Fire Department and contended on volunteering with 32 years of services. He also retired from Pfaff's Auto Glass in Winston-Salem. In addition to his parents James was preceded in death by his wife Margaret Bowden Burrow a grandson; Kevin Leon Burrow and a brother Robert Burrow. Surviving are his four sons: Leon Burrow (Special friend Patty) of Walnut Cove, Tommy (Jane) Burrow of King Timmy (Judy) Burrow of Dobson and Robert D.(Nanette) Burrow of Lewisville. Five grandchildren: Kim (Randy) Money, Tonya Burrow, Shawn Burrow, Tim White, Bryce and Sydne` Burrow. Four great grandchildren: Christopher Money, Landon Reece, Breanna and Audrey Burrow. Three sisters: Martha Ann (Frank) Campbell of Rural Hall, Dorothy Lee (Calvin) Voss of King and Mildred Lucille (Ronnie) Stringfield of Charlotte. Two brothers: Frankie Burrow and Gary (Earline) Burrow both of King. Several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon, November 2, 2010 at 2:00 P.M. at Rural Hall Church of Christ by Pastor Walter Brewer. Burial will follow at Rural Hall Memorial Park in Rural Hall. The family will receive friends at Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home in Rural Hall Monday evening, November 1st from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. Memorial may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care Center, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103 or to the Rural Hall Fire Department, 177 East Hwy 65, Rural Hall, NC 27045
