Mr. James Ernest Branscome, 63, of Winston-Salem passed away Friday, January 9, 2009 at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born February 10, 1945 in Forsyth County to Ernest Minor and Lucy Johnson Branscome. Mr. Branscome was a country music fan and a member of the Poke Easy Club. He was a long-time and active member of Salem Baptist Church where he was very active in Sunday School . He loved people and was a very giving and outgoing person. He loved Jesus. He loved his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his father. Surviving are his mother of Winston-Salem; a sister, Ruth B. Craver and husband Richard of Clemmons; a niece, Alison Lew and husband Sean of Clemmons; a nephew, Jonathan Craver of Advance; and great nieces, Jenny, Caroline and Lucy Lew. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 12 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Dr. Howard Wilburn officiating. Burial will follow in Forsyth Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Sunday, January 11 at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Salem Baptist Church, 429 South Broad St., Winston-Salem, NC 27101.
