James Bolen

Mr. James Warren Bolen, 51 of Winston-Salem passed away Friday, August 10, 2018. He was born March 31, 1967 to Carma C. Dawson and James D. Bolen. James graduated from West Forsyth High School in 1985 and continued his education at UNC Chapel Hill. On April 19, 1988 James was inducted into the Alpha of North Carolina Chapter of Phi Beta Kappa at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. On May 14, 1989, James graduated from the University of Chapel Hill with a major in RTVMP (communications) and a major in psychology. He retired from the United States Department of The Treasury Internal Revenue Service where he served with distinction. James enjoyed music, writing, collecting, art and movies. He had a quest for knowledge and excellence. James had enjoyed traveling to Bermuda, England and China. He was a loving and devoted son, brother and uncle who will be truly missed but will live on in our hearts forever. Preceding him in death were his maternal grandparents, Warren and Virginia Collins; paternal grandparents, Elmer and Hazel Bolen and his step-father, Charles B. Dawson, Jr. He is survived by his mother, Carma Dawson; his father and step-mother, James and Linda Bolen; his sister, Connie Wood and his nephews Dylan and Brendan Wood. A funeral service will be held 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, August 15, 2018 in the Forsyth Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel with Rev. Edwin G. Needham officiating. Entombment will follow.
