James Dixon Beshears III was born January 24, 1950, in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, to the late James Dixon Beshears II and Maxine Manning Beshears. He was a lifelong resident of the area, graduating from Parkland High School in 1969. Jim began his driving career at Young Phillips and recently retired from Bob King Automotive. Jim took his job as a safe driver seriously, logging 9,000,000 miles over the course of his career. He enjoyed church activities, watching many sports, a good round of golf, and spending time with family and friends. Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Maxine in 1989 and JD in 2016, and sister-in-law Eddie Carol Cooper Grubbs in 2006. Surviving Jim are his wife of 33 years, Gwyn Beshears, daughter Gina Brannock, grandsons Ryan Hutchinson and Matthew Brannock, and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 PM Saturday, December 16, 2023 at Hayworth-Miller Kinderton Chapel by Dr. Steve Corts and Rev. Mitch Monroe. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Westlawn Gardens of Memory.
