James Henry Allen

Colfax - James Henry Allen, 75, of Colfax, died Saturday July 19, 2008 at Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital. He was born September 23, 1932 in Guilford County, to the late Cleveland Clyde and Hannah Brookbank Allen. Mr. Allen was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He was a veteran of the Army, and attended Smith Grove Baptist Church in Colfax, He was preceded in death by four sisters and one brother. Surviving are; his loving wife of 56 years Mary Elizabeth Swink Allen, a daughter, Nancy Allen Kelley and husband Richard Kelley, Sr. of Kernersville, two grandchildren, Mary Elizabeth Kallam and husband Tim of Stokesdale, and Paul Richard Kelley, Jr. of Kernersville, two great grandchildren, James Mitchell Atkins, and William Hunter Atkins, a sister Barbara Joyner of Kernersville. A funeral service will be conducted 2:00 pm Tuesday, July 22, 2008 at Smith Grove Batist Church with pastor Chuck Peters officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery .
