James Henry Albury, III

WINSTON SALEM -  James Henry Albury, III, 39, passed away Sunday, October 22, 2023 at his home. James was born on October 5, 1984 in England to James Albury Jr. and Sherry Taylor Blakely. James had a heart of gold, always offering a smile and a joke. He was a good man and found strength in helping others, leading him to a career in firefighting which began when he was 15.  James’ career spanned over Forsyth County, serving at two Fire Departments, driving for Life Star, and most recently employed with Forsyth County Emergency Services – Fire Division.  He was very dedicated to his career and firefighter brotherhood, always quick to respond to their needs.

Outside of his career, James like to golf, cook and do woodworking. He loved his family and will be dearly missed.

James was preceded in death by two brothers, Jason Albury and Michael Mahr; as well as his maternal and paternal grandparents.

Surviving are his wife, Sara Albury; children, Jason Albury, Anna Albury, and James “Jamie” H. Albury, IV, Sara Holt, Kristyana Kurzyna, Alexander Kurzyna; his father, James Albury Jr. (wife, Kim); his mother, Sherry Blakely; siblings Amber Goffigan (husband, Sherron), Tiffanie Overman, Melanie Sallee, Mark Sallee (wife, Emily), and Matthew Mahr (wife, Carly); a grandchild, Braxton, and twins, Elliott and Everett, due in February; and many nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, October 28, 2023 at Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel with Pastor Daniel Hawtree officiating. Visitation will follow the service at the funeral home.
