On Saturday, October 7, 2023, after an 8-month battle with cancer, Ms. Jamaka Yvette Jackson, 41, of East Bend, NC passed from the land of the dying and was carried over to the land of the living to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She was born on November 8, 1981, in New Hanover County, NC. Jamaka was a loving mother and sacrificial grandmother, and she worked hard to care for her girls. In the middle of her life, God rescued Jamaka and gave her the privilege of experiencing the transforming power of Jesus Christ. She was freed not only from the bonds of addiction in this world but from the captivity of her sins and eternal death. The Lord then used Jamaka to glorify Him further by leading, mentoring, counseling, and guiding many other women through paths similar to her own at Solus Christus. She was known for her brilliant smile, feisty spirit, witty humor, faithfulness, and honesty. Throughout her battle with cancer, she remained steadfast in the Lord and desired to give Him glory all of her days. During her last few months, she enjoyed the opportunity to share her love for Christ with her family and friends. She was an inspiration to many and will be dearly missed. Jamaka will be lovingly remembered by her three daughters, Alexia, Aneesha, and Alexandria, her four grandchildren, Jahliyah, A’Zorah, Tylan, and Taylen, her father, James Jackson Sr, her mother, Patricia McDuffie, her sisters, Sabrina Nunez-Aguilar (Ernesto), Catrelia Moylan (Eric), Takechia Jackson, Alicia Jackson, her brother, James Jackson Jr. (Danielle), her many nieces and nephews, and her beloved family at Emmanuel Church of Winston-Salem and Solus Christus. Her celebration of life will be held at 2:30pm, Friday, October 13, 2023, at Emmanuel Church of Winston-Salem with Pastor Ben Allen and Pastor Brad Kinnison officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Solus Christus at soluschristusinc.org or P.O. Box 416, East Bend, NC, 27018. To God be the glory.
