Winston-Salem - Mrs. Jacqueline "Jacque" Edwards Spaugh, 74, passed away peacefully on Monday January 1, 2018, at her residence. Jacque was born on September 23, 1943, in Surry County to Ray and Mary Edwards. She was a faithful member of Ardmore Baptist Church for over 20 years. Jacque was Owner and Operator of Spaugh Motor Company since 1964 and was Secretary and Treasurer of Winston-Salem Wrecker Association for 30 years. She was a loving mother, Nana, and great grandmother. Jacque was a matriarch to the community and a guider of lost souls.


In addition to her parents, Jacque was preceded in death by her husband, Odell William Spaugh and her special friend, James Doby. She is survived by two sons, Samuel O. Spaugh (Teresa) and Thomas C. Spaugh; one daughter, Melissa S. Klutz (Chris); seven grandchildren, Tyler Spaugh, Devin Spaugh, Chelsea Spaugh, Trevor Spaugh, Tristin Adams, Reagan Poole, and Jade Martin; one great grandchild, Olivia Spaugh; three brothers, Teddy (Venita) Edwards, Dallas (Barbara) Edwards, Phil (Louise) Edwards; and two sisters, Linda (JC) Marshall and Shelia (Larry) Wilson.


A memorial service for Jaque will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, January 6, 2018, at Ardmore Baptist Church with Dr. Don Gordon officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 pm until 8 pm on Friday, January 5, 2018, at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made either to Hospice and Palliative Care at 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103 or The NCTA Caisson Unit at P.O. Box 840, Summerfield, NC 27358.
