Jacqueline Rogers Newton

Jacqueline (Jackie) Rogers Newton, 87, of Clemmons and formerly of Winston-Salem, passed away Saturday, June 18, 2016. Jackie was born in High Point to Fred and Hattie Rogers on February 21, 1929. She was a member of Christ Moravian Church and was an enthusiast of ceramic pottery and taught classes for 25 years. She was married to Arthur S. Newton, Jr. for 46 years. Jackie was predeceased by her parents, sister, Clara Motes, beloved husband, and her son, Arthur S. Newton, III ""Skeeter"" and stillborn daughter, Ginger Gwyn Newton. Jackie is survived by her daughters, Lisa Clayton and husband David of Lewisville and Heidi Wilmoth and husband Lee of Winston-Salem; daughter in law, Donna Newton of High Point; 8 loving grandchildren; and 10 wonderful great-grandchildren. A memorial service is planned for Monday, June 20, 2016 at 4 pm at Christ Moravian Church. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service in the new Fellowship Building. Memorials may be made to Christ Moravian Church General Fund, 919 West Academy Street, Winston-Salem, NC 27101.
