Jackie Phillips

Jackie passed away peacefully surrounded by family on March 2nd, 2018 at the age of 81. He was born on January 29, 1937 in Danville, Virginia to Jack and Kathleen Phillips and was an only child. Jackie grew up in Danville where he met the love of his life, Barbara Ellen White. They married in 1956. He attended George Washington High School and earned a full baseball scholarship from Wake Forest University, graduating with a BS in Physical Education in 1960. He was in the Army reserves for eight years. His entire professional career was dedicated to Reynolds Tobacco Company moving up in the ranks to Plant Manager of the Brook Cove Processing Facility. He retired in 1993 after a long lasting and prosperous career. He enjoyed playing golf, time at the beach, taking cruises, spending time with his family and poodle Molly.


He resided in Winston-Salem and was a beloved son, husband, father and grandfather.


He is survived by his wife Barbara and three children, David and Susan, who reside in Winston-Salem and Jodi, who resides in Charlotte. His beloved grandchildren are Abbigail, Mackenzie, Madison and Cameron.


Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 4th at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel, 3315 Silas Creek Parkway, Winston-Salem from 1:00-2:45 PM with a graveside service to follow at 3:00 PM at Parklawn Memorial Park, 2730 Peters Creek Parkway, Winston-Salem. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Kate B Reynolds Hospice House, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
