Jackie Myers

Oak Ridge- Mrs. Jackie Price Myers, 74, passed away Friday, January 21, 2022, at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston Salem, North Carolina. She was born May 27, 1947, in Wayne County, NC, the daughter of Eason and Viola Grady Price. Jackie grew up on a tobacco farm in Seven Springs; graduating from Seven Springs High School and Campbell College with a degree in Elementary education. She retired from the NC Department of Labor (NCOSHA) and was a recipient of the Order of the Long Leaf Pine. Jackie was a member of Oak Ridge United Methodist Church, where she enjoyed many Bible study classes. A very social person who never met a stranger, Jackie enjoyed life. Her hobbies included line dancing, exercising at the YMCA, and she was an avid reader. She was devoted to her family and was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Melanie Dossett and three sisters, Hope Smith, Faith Wilson and Janet Watson. Survivors include her husband of 42 years, Philip Myers; a daughter Jamie Richardson (Justin) of Greensboro; a sister, Jeanne Gibbs of Coats, NC; five grandchildren, Cammile Dossett, Hunter Dossett, Fiona Richardson, Fox Richardson and Rhys Richardson; a great granddaughter, Isabella Grace Johnson and many nieces, nephews and friends. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM Saturday, January 29, 2022, at Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel. A private graveside service will follow the visitation. Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel is assisting the family.
