Mr. Jack L. Grubbs went home to be with the Lord. Thursday evening September 2, 2010 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. He was born in Forsyth Co. on May 19, 1945 to the late John and Mae Grubbs. Jack was a wonderful Christian man and faithful member of Turners Creek Baptist Church. He retired from R.J. Reynolds with 30 years of service, but continued to work afterwards at Renegade Tobacco in Mocksville. Jack loved to cook barbeque for his family during his spare time. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother. Jack is preceded in death by sister Lucille Walker of King; two brothers William Thomas Grubbs and Russell Edwards Grubbs. He is survived by wife Martha Gail Grubbs of Yadkinville; son Jack ""Jay"" L. Grubbs, Jr. and wife Kelley L. Grubbs of Concord; daughter Misty L. Jolley and husband Doug Jolley of Seagrove; four grandchildren Haley F. Grubbs, Kristina L. Grubbs, Jacob R. Grubbs, and Joshua L. Grubbs; three sisters Dorothy H. Davis of Lewisville, Betty Huls and Bill of Pfafftown, and Barbara Wall and David of Rural Hall. A funeral Service will be at 3:00 PM Sunday, September 5, 2010 at Turners Creek Baptist Church with Pastor Bobby Russell, Rev. Scott Welch and Pastor Harold Fletcher officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Saturday at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek.
