Jack Queen

Jack Randall Queen passed away peacefully April 2, 2018 surrounded by his family at Forsyth Medical Center. Jack was born October 5, 1946 to Christine and Travis "Jack" Queen. He was a lifelong resident of Forsyth County. He graduated in 1965 from North Forsyth High School and married Susan Williams of Lewisville in 1967. He served as supply clerk on the USS Shangri La in the late 1960's. Following his service, he was employed as a driver for Greyhound bus lines and then in the late 1980s moved to working as a delivery driver for local packaging companies. He loved eating NC BBQ at local restaurants and enjoyed fishing, whittling and collecting pocket knives and NC pottery. He is survived by his daughters Cindy Queen of Winston-Salem, Sharon Vannoy of Winston-Salem and Amy Queen of Clemmons, his sister Sheila Nunn of Sharon, SC; his grandchildren Rachel and Luke Vannoy of Winston-Salem, his nephew Gregg Gaulden of York, SC a maternal Aunt Joan McCurry of Valdese, NC and multiple cousins. He is preceded in death by his wife Susan, daughter, Susan Lynn, his mother Christine and father Travis "Jack" Queen. A funeral service commemorating Jack's life is planned for 11:00 AM Friday, April 6, 2018 at Hayworth Miller Funeral Home in Lewisville, NC. A graveside service will follow at Forsyth Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Thursday, April 5, 2018 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, 4217 Park Place Ct.
