Jack Lee Palmer, 88, passed away on March 2, 2022. Jack was born in Mount Airy, North Carolina, on October 30, 1933, to the late Vester and Irene Collins Palmer. He is survived by his devoted wife of 64 years, Nancy Chilton Palmer; sons Mark (Coralie) Palmer and Tim (Glenda) Palmer; daughter-in-law Sue Craddock Palmer; four grandchildren, Jennifer Palmer (Zachary Ikner), Alan Palmer (Shay Cuff), Lauren Palmer (Sean Wiseman), and Jake Palmer (Jay Schmildt); and great-granddaughter Josie Cheek. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters Kathy Palmer Walker and Jo Ann Palmer Simpson Hughes; brother, J.T. Palmer; and son, Michael Palmer. Jack was a much beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend. He owned and ran P.M. Insurance Services for 26 years, was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church of Pilot Mountain, East Surry Little League, and Civic Club, and was a founding member of the Pilot Mountain Foundation. A graveside service will be held at the Pilot Mountain Cemetery on Saturday, March 5, 2022, at 2:00pm. The family will receive friends for an informal visitation after the interment in the fellowship hall of First Presbyterian Church of Pilot Mountain. The Palmer family would like to thank Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care, Priddy Manor Assisted Living, and our wonderful friends for their care and support. The family requests that memorials be made in lieu of flowers to Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care, the First Presbyterian Church of Pilot Mountain, and to the Pilot Mountain Foundation, Inc. (Armfield Civic and Recreation Center).
