NATHEY - TOBACCOVILLE On August 1, 2011 at 10:20 a.m., long haul trucker Jack (Nasty, Cowboy, J.J., Nanner Shaker) Nathey, popped the airbrakes on his last run on Earth. He has bumped the dock in Heaven and filled out his last log sheet. Jack was born December 5, 1924 in Okaloosa County, FL to the late Leonia Rachel Wise Nathey and Lewis Andrew Jackson Nathey. He was a member of Mineral Springs Baptist Church. The man never met a stranger and if he couldn't say something nice, he'd say nothing at all. He was always joking, to the point of corny and was always looking up. Jack was always ready to give his last dollar to whoever needed it. Not too many people on this Earth get to live their career passion, he did. Not too many people get a chance to feel free and faithful, he did that too. Know that this world has lost a great man and that the world has been a better place for everyone whose life he has touched. Jack always said, ""Keep the sunny side up and the dirty side down."" In addition to his parents, Jack was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Louise Wilson Nathey; and five siblings. Surviving are his son, Ricky Lee Nathey; three grandchildren, Riki Lei Nathey, Hollie Michelle Nathey and Luke Ellis Nathey; and many friends (you KNOW who you are, their are too many to name, just as the lives he touched are just as many). A Graveside Service will be conducted 10 a.m. Friday, August 5, 2011 at Gardens of Memory in Walkertown with Dr. Cecil Cave and Dr. Gus Thomas officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials may be made to Hospice & Palliative Care Center, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103. Online condolences may be made at www.hayworth-miller.com.
