Jack Devinet Lingafelt

Mr. Jack Devinet Lingafelt, 74, of Winston-Salem passed away Sunday, August 10, 2008 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. He was born in Burke County to the late Lee Roy and Della Whisnant Lingafelt. Mr. Lingafelt was a member of Waughtown Baptist Church and a former member of Antioch Baptist Church where he served as a deacon, Sunday school teacher and choir member. He served in the North Carolina National Guard and retired from McLean Trucking Company. He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Shirley Lingafelt of the home. He is also survived by his two sons, Chris A. Lingafelt (Sylvia) of Winston-Salem and B. Scott Lingafelt (Lynn) of Raleigh; five grandchildren, Jordan, Justin, Luke, Sarah, and Philip; two sisters, Jo Ann Lambert and Jean Joye and a brother, Bob Lingafelt. A funeral service will be held at 2:00pm, Wednesday, August 13, 2008 at Waughtown Baptist Church with the Rev. Carl Garner, the Rev. Neal Eller, and the Rev. Mike Hamby officiating. Entombment will follow at Parklawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6:00pm until 8:00pm on Tuesday at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel.
