Mr. Jack Wellons Holt, 86, of Winston-Salem passed away Thursday, April 22, 2010 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. He was born September 24, 1923 in Forsyth County to Charles and Lenora Elkins Holt. Mr. Holt was a devoted member of Canaan United Methodist Church where he taught Sunday School, sang in the choir, and was a member of the Methodist Men. He was retired from Western Electric, loved to play golf, and loved the Carolina Tarheels. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Gene (Lula), Charles (Millie), and Mack; sisters, Alma, Hazel Kiger (Otis), Doris Duggins (Jimmy), and Ellen Eller (Jack); and a brother-in-law, Jim Bennett (Kat). Surviving is his wife, Edna Bennett Holt; son, Keith and Deborah Holt; grandchildren, April and Joshua Henighan, Allison Holt (deceased), and Ashley Holt; great grandchildren, Benjamin Holt, Nathaniel Henighan, L.J. Henighan, Hannah Henighan, and Caleb Henighan; brother, Glenn Holt (Ollie); sister, Shirley Saunders (Wayne); and sister-in-law, Andreé© Holt. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 24 at Canaan United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. on Saturday prior to the service.
