HOLLOWAY Jack Holloway passed away on April 2, 2011, five hours shy of his 87th birthday. He was the son of the late John Holloway and Mattie Lackey McNair. He led an adventurous life as a legendary stock car and thrill show driver. He was a carnival business entrepreneur. He also worked as a fleet manager at Roadway Express and retired from Fleet Supply Company. Mr. Holloway is also preceded in death by his in-laws Ira and Opal Mecum whom he loved as parents. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Faye Mecum Holloway; daughter Bonnie Faye Guthrie and husband Jack; son John Ira Ikey Holloway; granddaughter Wendy Guthrie and husband Mark Shehan. The family will receive friends from 7-9 PM Monday, April 4, 2011. The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 PM Tuesday April 5, 2011 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek chapel. The service will be officiated by Brother Leon Wishon. Entombment will follow in the Westlawn Gardens of Memory. The family requests no flowers.
