Mr. Jack Dean Callahan, 85, of Winston-Salem, passed away on Friday, February 3, 2023, at Forsyth Medical Center.  Jack was born in Forsyth County on October 8, 1937, to the late Hoyt David Callahan and Sadie McDaniel Callahan.  He graduated from Gray High School and served in the United States Air Force.  Jack had a lengthy career in the heating and air industry, working for Landingham Heating & Air.  Jack’s specialty was working on boilers and was affectionately known as the “Boiler Man.”  Jack was an avid sports fan and especially enjoyed watching NASCAR racing.  In addition to his parents, Jack was preceded in death by his brother, Grady Callahan and two sisters, Lillian Whisenhunt and Peggy Brendle.  He is survived by his brother, Bill Callahan and wife, Deborah; two sisters, Betty Bobbitt and husband, Kenny and Ruth Cockrum; his fiancé, Virginia Pope and her daughter, Carol and husband, Ken; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.  A graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, February 7, 2023, at Woodland Cemetery with Dr. Joe Long officiating.  Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel is assisting the family of Mr. Callahan.
