Jack Hardy Boyle, Jr.

Jack Hardy Boyle, Jr., 78, of Winston-Salem, passed away Friday, September 5, 2008 at his residence. He was born on November 19, 1929 to Jack Hardy and Hazel Richardson Boyle. He retired from Duke Power Company with many years of service. Mr. Boyle is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Constance Hancock Boyle; his three children, Jack Hardy Boyle III (Beth) of Bybee, Tennessee, Pamela Jane Boyle (Allen Gentry) of Advance, and J. Stephen Boyle of Rural Hall; his grandchildren, Erin L. Boyle of Birmingham, Alabama, Joshua S. Boyle of Winston-Salem, and Allison E. Boyle of Charlotte. Jack's legacy to his family and friends will be long treasured. He will be remembered for his generosity and especially for his wit. He always had a story at hand to entertain or to illustrate a point. His friends will remember him well for his deliveries of vegetables and homemade stew, cookies and bread. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Monday, September 8 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with the Reverend Miller Allen officiating. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service.
