J. Albert "Al" Lineberry, 74, of Winston Salem, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on January 21, 2018. Al was born and raised in Ramseur, NC, the youngest son of Curtis Hillary "Junior" Lineberry, Jr. and Mary Lee Huneycutt Lineberry. He attended Ramseur High School and went on to work at RJ Reynolds where he retired from after 33 years. He loved to tell stories about his high school football days, flying his airplane, driving his Austin Healy, and his time on the tobacco market traveling the east coast. If you knew Al, you know his world revolved around his family. His girls were the light of his life, he loved his sons and daughter in law as if they were his kids too, and his Grandsons were the apple of his eye. In addition to his parents, Junior and Mary Lee, Al was preceded in death by his big brother, Wayne Lineberry, and an infant daughter, Diana Hillary Lineberry.
Al is survived by his daughters, Christi Lineberry McDaniel (Phillip) of King, Lacey Claire Lineberry (Caitlin) of Huntersville, and Grace Lineberry McParland (Patrick) of Winston-Salem; his Grandsons, Ryan Phillip McDaniel and Jared Hunter McDaniel; Sister in law, Kitty Lineberry Gallimore; Nephews, Greg Lineberry and Todd Lineberry (Missy); and many treasured cousins and great nieces & nephews. He also leaves behind numerous friends that he considered family.
After retirement, Al enjoyed a second career helping out at the Duggins/Muddy Creek Motorsports shop where he made many friends. Throughout his life Al was a Deacon at Quaker Gap Baptist Church, and then attended Mount Tabor UMC and Sunrise UMC. He had a steadfast faith in the Lord and looked forward to an eternity with Jesus. He was a dedicated supporter of Wake Forest athletics, and many other causes close to his heart. Anytime there was an opportunity to watch any of his "kids" play sports Al was there and sure to be their biggest fan, including heckling many officials. Al will be incredibly missed by his family and friends who all look forward to seeing ‘Big Al' again one day.
