Ivy Lee Stack, Jr.

Mr. Ivy Lee Stack, Jr., 90, passed away June 17, 2016 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. He was born August 13, 1925 in Guilford County to the late Ivy Lee Stack, Sr. and Ollie Tucker Stack. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Dorothy Dillon and Irene Brown. Mr. Stack was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. He enjoyed spending time with his Sunday school class and his golfing buddies. He served in World War II in the U.S. Navy and retired from Lucent Technologies with 40 years of service. He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Lena Bunker Stack; his son, Michael Ray Stack and special friend, Myra; his daughter, Linda Stack McDow; four granddaughters, Lindsey Stack, Alyssa Stack Bates and husband Billy, Brittany Stack, and Erin McDow; two brothers, Willard Stack and Harold Stack and wife Mary; two sisters, Ruth Wrenn and husband Eugene and Shirley Wyley and husband Ray. A funeral service will be held at 2:00pm, Monday, June 20, 2016 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with the Rev. Kevin Kilbreth officiating. Private burial will follow at Skyline Memory Garden in Mt. Airy. The family will receive friends from 6:00pm until 8:00pm on Sunday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Hospice & Palliative Care Center, 101 Hospice Ln., Winston-Salem, NC 27103 or to the charity of the donor's choice.
