Ivey Kenneth Prescott, 90, of Lexington, NC passed away on Saturday, March 2, 2024, at his home. He was born to the late Ivey Johnson and Elizabeth Hinsdale Prescott on June 20, 1933, in Forsyth County.
Ken was a proud Air Force Veteran; after high school he served 4 years before being honorably discharged. He then went on to begin a successful career in the radio communications field and was a pioneer in the wireless industry. He continued this path for more than 40 years. Ken enjoyed many hobbies in his free time such as camping, riding motorcycles, visiting the coast, golfing, gardening, and working on antique cars. Although, he especially loved spending time with his family and close friends.
In addition to his parents, Ken was preceded in death by his two sons, Ivey Kevin Prescott, and Shawn Keith Prescott; and siblings, Doris Walker, and Terry Prescott.
He was survived by his loving Wife of 32 years, Nancy McGee; Daughters, Kellie Prescott Cooley (Ken), and Kathy Prescott Sink; Stepdaughter, Christy McGee; Grandchildren, Shane Prescott, Michael Prescott, Jamey Robertson (Ashley), Josh Prescott (Robin), Sarah Hedlund (Todd), Cayla Prescott, Katie Mannon (Michael), and Holly Sink (Timothy); Brothers, Joe Prescott (Barbara), and Ron Prescott (Linda); special friends, Don and Diana Vestal; and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
A funeral service to celebrate his life, will be held at 12:00pm on Thursday, March 7, 2024, at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. The family will be receiving friends from 11:00am to 12:00pm before the service. The burial will follow at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens. Pastor David Shaw will be officiating the service.
