Ivalee Keen

Ivalee Keen, 66, of Walkertown, passed away Sunday, March 24, 2013 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. She was born October 26, 1946 in Forsyth County to Vincent Bray and Doris Wishon Keen. Ms. Keen was of the Baptist faith. She was a graduate of Bob Jones University and then attained her Masters Degree from UNC-Greensboro. She taught school from the time she graduated from college. She taught at Wilmington Christian Academy, Union Grove Christian School, Gospel Light Christian School and Walkertown Elementary. She was very gifted at crafts, loved to bake, and loved to travel. She was a loving and dedicated mother and grandmother. She was preceded in death by her father, Vincent Bray Keen. Surviving are one daughter, Bonnie Keen (Billy Edwards) of King; two grandchildren, Leeandra Keen and Noah Edwards; her mother, Doris Keen; one brother, Victor Keen (Lea) of Chester, NJ; one sister, Darlene Clagett (Larry) of Kernersville; one niece, Leah Burnette (Daryl) of Winston-Salem; one nephew, Jonathan Spangler (Kori) of Oak Ridge; and several special great nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 27 at Grace Presbyterian Church, 360 Hopkins Road, Kernersville, with Jonathan Spangler and Dr. John Clagett officiating. The family will receive friends at the church following the service.
