Mrs. Ivadess Kimsey Dixon, age 90, of Winston-Salem, NC passed away peacefully on Saturday April 20, 2024. Ivadess was born on November 11, 1933, in Forsyth County, NC to the late Von Roscoe and Vera Smith Kimsey. She was preceded in death by her husband David Wilson Dixon, Sr., bother Carroll Kimsey, sister Jean Kimsey Carroll, stepsons David Wilson Dixon, Jr. and Michael Wayne Dixon. She is survived by her sister Manetta Beeson, sister-in-law, Jan Kimsey; daughters Leigh Dixon Blount and husband Douglas, Vera Denise Dixon, Candance Anne Dixon; her grandchildren Christopher Dixon and wife Tara, Heather Gentle and husband Jason, Hannah Bray and husband Jay, Justin Wall and wife Ashley, Samuel Dixon, Sarah Blount and Sydney Blount. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.Mrs. Dixon worked in accounting throughout her career. She received her associate’s degree while working full-time and raising a family. After retirement, she worked a couple of seasons at Glacier National Park. Ivadess was a long-time member of First Presbyterian Church where she volunteered much of her free time.The family wish to express their deep gratitude to the staff of Clemmons Village who loved and cared for her. In lieu of flowers, please consider a contribution to dementia or Alzheimer’s research. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, April 27, 2024, at 2:00pm at Crestview Memorial Garden - 6850 University Pkwy, Rural Hall, NC 27045. Pastor Sonny Flowers from River Oaks Community Church will officiate.
