Isabell Gordon Smith

Mrs. Isabell Gordon Smith, 96, went home to be with the Lord, May 24, 2016. She was born January 25, 1920 in Stokes County to the late Claude Arthur and Esther Mae Gordon. Isabell Retired from R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company after working at Brook Cove for many years. After retiring, she was a dedicated homemaker, working on the farm. She loved making quilts and was the oldest member of Olive Grove Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Amos Ellis Smith; three brothers, Pat, Paul, and Buck. She is survived by two daughters, Linda Smith Lankford, Anyce (Mike) Donaldson; two sons, Arthur A. Smith, Ronnie Randal Smith (Sheila Lawson); eight grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren; one brother, Buster Clark Gordon; one sister, Johnnie Sue Hartgrove. A funeral service will be conducted 11:00 A.M. Friday, May 27, 2016 at Olive Grove Baptist Church, 2131 Volunteer Road, Pinnacle, N.C. 27043 with Rev. Todd Lusk and Rev. Mitch Robertson Officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6 P.M to 8 P.M. at the church. Memorials may be made to Olive Grove Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 2131 Volunteer Road, Pinnacle, N.C.
