Isaac Baity, Jr.

Mr. Isaac Hester Baity Jr., age 90, of Winston-Salem passed away peacefully and went to be with the Lord on Saturday, October 8, 2022.

He was born on March 11, 1932 in Forsyth County, NC to the late Isaac Hester Baity Sr. and Nancy Elizabeth Gough.

Mr. Baity was a graduate of Gray High School, class of 1950.  Mr. Baity then joined the U.S. Air Force where he served in the Korean War.  He served on the front lines as an aircraft mechanic, staff sergeant, and was awarded several medals, including two Bronze Stars.  After serving his country in war, Mr. Baity worked for the U.S. Postal Service where he retired after 30 years of service.  Once retired from the postal service, he continued to serve by earning his EMT Certification and working for Tom Higgs Ambulance Service. Mr. Baity was a faithful member of Friedberg Moravian Church for many years.

Isaac (I.H.) was a devoted father and grandfather and he loved spending time with his family. His hobbies included raising miniature horses, restoring cars, attending car shows and races, and he loved working outside.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his three sisters, Helen Clark, Hazel Kapp, and Mary Lee Jones.

I.H. will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Debra S. Baity of the home; one daughter, Donna Baity Simonds and one son, Stephen Hester Baity (Cheryl), all of Lexington and two grandchildren, Grant Simonds and Faith Baity.

A graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 AM Wednesday, October 12, 2022 at Friedberg Moravian Church Graveyard, with Rev. James C. Newsome, Jr. and Rev. Dan K. Nelson officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.
