TYSON KERNERSVILLE, Mrs. Irene Marie Peele Tyson, 71, of Gateway Place Ln. passed away Saturday August 22, 2009 at Forsyth Medical Center. Mrs. Tyson was born in Guilford County on July 11, 1938 the daughter of the late Roy and Virginia Turnbull Peele. She was a member and Trustee of Burning Bush Community Church in King. Irene was a member of the Red Hat Society, she had retired from Sara Lee Corp. in 2000 with 23 ½ years of service and was a former employee of Pine Ridge Restaurant in Winston-Salem. She was preceded in death by her parents and a son Donald Wayne Tyson, Sr. Surviving is her husband of 55 ½ years Luther Barrett Tyson, Sr. of the home, two daughters Vickie Allen and husband Gerald of Mocksville and Judy Tyson McCoy and husband Bill of Monroe, NC, a son Luther Barrett Tyson, Jr. of Atlanta, GA. four grandsons, William, Brian, Donald and Adam, two sisters Jackie Coble and Verlene Thompson. Funeral services will be conducted 12:00 Noon Tuesday, August 25, 2009 at Hayworth-Miller Chapel in Rural Hall with Pastor Ronnie Brown officiating. The Tyson family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday morning from 10:00 AM until 12:00. A graveside service will be conducted 3:00 PM at Gethsemane Memorial Gardens in Charlotte. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Burning Bush Community Church C/O Rev. Ronnie Brown, 2995 Mizpah Church Rd., Rural Hall, NC 27045. (Hayworth-Miller Chapel Rural Hall)
