Irene Whitt McMahan, 85, of Winston-Salem passed away Sunday, March 28, 2010 at Forsyth Medical Center. She was born September 26, 1924 in Surry County to Hillard Lee and Bessie Lee Underwood Whitt. Mrs. McMahan was a member of Memorial Reformed Church and was retired from Western Electric with 35 years of service. She was preceded in death by her parents; five sisters, Myrtle Cline, Martha Rozas, Mae Hester, Mary Craver and Florence Black; and one brother, Isaac Whitt. Surviving are her husband, Claude Cecil McMahan, Sr.; two sons, Claude Cecil McMahan, Jr. of Winston-Salem and Steven Wayne McMahan (Becky) of Mocksville; three grandchildren, Amy Vernon (Josh), Scott McMahan (Shawn), and Cassidy McMahan; one great grandchild, Dovie Vernon; and a daughter-in-law, Peggy McMahan. A graveside service will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, April 1 at Parklawn Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel with the Rev. Norwood Green and the Rev. Christa Warise officiating.
