Irene Grant Holder

Irene Grant Holder ""Nana"", 86, of Winston-Salem passed away January 26, 2009 at Forsyth Medical Center. She was born February 18, 1922 to E.E. and Attie Reid Grant in Iredell County. Preceding her in death were her parents, two sisters, Selma Johnson and Sadie Lowe and one brother, James Grant. Irene is survived by her husband of 61 years, Orville Robert ""Bob"" Holder; two daughters, Janice Thompson (Tom) and Wanda Reeves (Ron); granddaughters, Traci Gwynn Pendleton (Young Jester) and Lori Gortman; step-grandson, T.J. Thompson; great-granddaughters, Shelby and April Pendleton, Faith Irene TianXiang Gortman; two sisters, Stella Cann and Violet Brady; also surviving are several nieces and nephews. She was an avid gardener and bird watcher. A graveside service will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, January 29, 2009 at Parklawn Memorial Park with Pastor Judith Dancy officiating. The family will receive friends at the home of Wanda and Ron Reeves.
