Mrs. Irene McGee Collins, better known as ""Tink"" by her family and friends, she was the 12th of 16 McGee siblings, born to William and Mary Jane McGee in Stokes County and raised in a family of talented string musicians. Never reading a note but instead playing by ear, Tink mastered the piano. She had an amazing spirit⦠Loved everyone⦠Judged no one. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 60 years, Glenn Collins, but she declared often that (even though she was 8 years older than Glenn) she still had way too much to do. She also outlived all her siblings. Tink will be remembered as funny and kind, her friends at Mallard Ridge will smilingly remember her daily visits to their ""Blue Fish"". She loved Waked Forest Basketball and traveling with their Airstream in tow. Her stories were ageless and endless. She is lovingly survived by her two sons, Garry Collins and Jim Ann Howard, Dan Collins and wife Jan, her grandsons, Casey Collins and wife Ashley and Evan Collins and wife Leah, and her great granddaughter, Beatrice Kate Collins. She is survived by many other family members, including Betsy Pike, and several step great grandchildren: ""birthday boy Isaac, Aaron and Jordan Burns, Jadyn, Raegan and Douglas Davis and Linley Davis. A graveside service will be conducted Wednesday, March 30, 2016 at 2:00 PM at Crestview Memorial Park, 6850 University Parkway, Rural Hall with family members officiating. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening, March 29, 2016 from 6:00- 8:00 PM at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. Our family is very grateful for all who shared in Tink's life and daily care.
