Ida Dorothea ""Dot""Baker Swaim, 90, of Winston-Salem passed away Thursday, January 28, 2010 at her home. She was born November 16, 1919 in Forsyth County to Marvin Poindexter Baker and Lula Thomas Baker. Mrs. Swaim was a member of Union Cross Baptist Church. She loved to travel, loved animals, and loved her grandchild and great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Norman Lee Swaim; two sisters, Frankie Flynt and Ethel Swaim; and one brother, Marvin Baker. Surviving is a son, Frederick Swaim of the home; a granddaughter, Becky Ali; three great grandchildren, Felicia, Jahir and Damien; two step granddaughters, Rita Adams and Tina Darnell; three step-great grandchildren Jordan, Zackary and Weston four sisters, Lucille Motsinger, Pearl Yountz, Imogene Weavil and Billie Weavil; one brother, Talmadge Baker; and a god daughter, Sumer Geiser. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, February at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Dr. Mark Ashworth officiating. Burial will follow in Waughtown Cemetery.
