Mrs. Ida Mae Plunkett Choplin, age 82 went to be with her Lord and Savior Friday, March 28, 2014 at her home in King. Mrs. Choplin was born April 28, 1931 in Forsyth County to James Walter and Effie Bernice Crews Plunkett. She was member of Freedom Baptist Church in Rural Hall. Mrs. Choplin was a good Christian woman; she loved her church and her church family. She was a very loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Mrs. Choplin retired for Sara Lee Hosiery. In addition to her parents Mrs. Choplin was preceded in death by her first husband, William Walser Towe.
Mrs. Choplin is survived by her husband, Don Choplin of the home. Two daughters; Linda (Danny) O'Neal of Ararat and Cathy (Ronnie) Huffman of Belews Creek. Three step-sons; Steve (Angie) Choplin of Oak Island, Tony Choplin of Walkertown and Keith (Roxann) Choplin of Winston-Salem. Seven grandchildren, Ten great-grandchildren. One brother, James (Donna) Plunkett of King. One nephew and one great-niece.
Funeral services for Mrs. Choplin will be held Tuesday, April 1, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. at Freedom Baptist Church in Rural Hall by Rev. John Byerly and Rev. Jon White. Burial will follow at First Baptist Church of Stanleyville Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home in Rural Hall Monday evening March 31st from 7:00 until 9:00 P.M.
