Hugh Manning Bryson

BRYSON Mr. Hugh Manning Bryson, 70, of Clemmons passed away Sunday, October 31, 2010 at his home. He was born March 11, 1940 in Henderson, N.C. to Joseph Manning and Jane Lance Bryson. Mr. Bryson was a member of Friedberg Moravian Church where he had served as Sunday School Superintendent. He was active in the Arcadia Booster Club and scouting. He was on the Advisory Council at Arcadia Elementary School. Mr. Bryson retired from Sara Lee after 30 years of service as Director of Manufacturing and Plant Manager. He enjoyed fishing and gardening. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Emily Bryson Holland; his father-in-law, Guy B. Zimmerman; and a sister-in-law, Beth Ann Zimmerman. Surviving is his wife of 47 years, Joan Zimmerman Bryson; two sons, Joseph Bryson and wife Mary Beth, and David Bryson and wife Tracie; four grandchildren, Mary Charles, Nathaniel ""Nate"", Elizabeth, and Joseph Edward ""Jeb""; two sisters, Beverly Wilhelm and husband Walter, and Josephine Baumgardner and husband Paul. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, November 4 at Friedberg Moravian Church with the Rev. G. Thomas Shelton and the Rev. James C. Newsome, Jr. officiating.
