Huett Donald Whitney

Mr. Huett Donald Whitney, 75, of Winston-Salem, passed away on Saturday, December 17, 2011 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. Mr. Whitney was born in Trenton, Missouri on October 24, 1936 to the late Kenneth Harold Whitney and Frances Mae Clingsmith Whitney. He was part of the Robinhood Road Baptist Church family; he retired from McDonalds with 24 years of service. Mr. Whitney enjoyed playing golf and bowling. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and caring foster parent to 23 children. Preceding in death along with his parents are his brother Harold Whitney. Surviving is his loving wife of 32 years Penny Whitney, two daughters; Tammy Pless and husband Todd and Anna Whitney; three sons; Jacob, Christopher and Mitchell Whitney, seven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, four sisters; Judy, Mary Louis, Betty and Sue, and one brother; Joe Whitney. A graveside service will be conducted at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, December 20, 2011 at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens with Rev. John. E. Hackworth, Jr officiating. In lieu of flowers please make donations to 7 Homes Foster Care and Adoptions agency of North Carolina, 1312 Hamilton Plaza, High Point, NC 27262 or to Hospice Palliative Care, 101Hospice Lane, Winston Salem, NC 27103.
