Mr. Hubert E. ""June"" Martin, Jr., 69, of Welcome went to be with the Lord on January 12, 2009 at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born December 28, 1939 to Hubert E. Martin Sr. and Nora Martin in Winston-Salem. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Betty Tuttle of Winston-Salem and Joyce Johnson of Mauldin, SC; and one brother, Buck Gallman of South Carolina. Surviving is his loving wife of 43 years, Betty Goad Martin of the home; one sister, Ruby Hill (Kay) of Midway. June retired from McLean Trucking and Yellow Freight with 30 years of service. He was a member of Woodland Baptist Church since 1971, which he loved dearly. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, Jan. 16 at Woodland Baptist Church with the Rev. Tim Gammons, Rev. Vic Pyles, Don Walker and Rev. Zeno Groce officiating. Entombment with follow at Parklawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Woodland Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Woodland Baptist Church Building Fund, 3665 Patterson Ave., Winston-Salem, NC 27105.
