WALNUT COVE- Hubert Elwood Clodfelter, 71, formerly of Kernersville, passed away Tuesday, November 17, 2009 at Walnut Cove Healthcare Center. He was born December 16, 1937 in Forsyth Co. to the late Roscoe Cicero and Nellie Stafford Clodfelter. Mr. Clodfelter was a member of Oaklawn Baptist Church. He retired from Roadway Trucking after 30 years of employment, but farmed most of his life with his father. Hubert was an avid horseman, he had a great love for Quarter Horses and Percheron Horses. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his loving sister, Shirley Reid of Walburg. Surviving are his wife, Betty Orange Clodfelter; his daughter, Terrie C. Smith and husband Troy of Stoneville; two grandchildren, Crystal Smith Shelton (Joey) and Clayton Smith (Tiffany); one great-grandson, Clay Remington Smith; a very dear brother, Robert Clodfelter of Indiana; three step-children, Gwynn Orange of Elkin, Charles Orange of Hamptonville, Steve Orange of PA; and 10 step-grandchildren. A graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 pm Friday, November 20, 2009 at Eastlawn Gardens of Memory with Pastor Jim Saul officiating.
