Mr. Howard Ray Wooten, Jr., 71, passed away February 3, 2023. He was born January 6, 1952 in Forsyth County to the late Howard Ray Wooten, Sr., and Alta Jean Reid Wooten. Howard retired from RJ Reynolds after 20 years of service. He loved the outdoors and spent time hunting and fishing. He loved animals, and he had two very special dogs, “Scout” and “Skeeter” that were very important in his life. He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his loving wife of 29 years, Kolleen Wooten; one daughter, Ashley Leeber (Greg); two sons, Nathan Wooten (Jill), and Kolton Hughes (Stephanie); two grandchildren, Madison Leeber and Aiden Hughes; one brother, Tim Wooten (Carolyn); one niece, Jennifer Wooten, and nephew, Brian Wooten. The family will receive friends Monday, February 6, 2023, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Hayworth-Miller Rural Hall Chapel. A Memorial Service will be conducted 2:00 PM Tuesday, February 7, 2023, at the funeral home with Pastor Jonathan Burris officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Trellis Supportive Care, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103 or to National Wildlife.org.
